Reconnect
St George Youth & Family Service
Reconnect helps young people in St George aged 12 to 18 from all cultures who
are having problems at home, or who are at risk of becoming homeless, to stay
in touch with family, school, work, training and the community. Reconnect
offers a range of direct services including: -
Information & Referral
- Practical
and emotional support (casework)
-
Informal Counselling and family mediation
-
Advocacy and Parenting Skills
- Outreach
and Brokerage.
These
services are provided by qualified project staff and in collaboration with other
local services. Reconnect also aims to build community capacity to sustain the
outcomes of the project. Strategies for this include: GROUPS
AT RECONNECT:
- Parenting
Teenagers Groups run twice a year. Fathers/ male carers group in May
2008, general parenting group is in October 2008.
Current
PARENTING TEENAGERS group commences 28th October 2008 and runs for 8 weeks. Flyer

About It": Workshops for a Campaign called 'Talk About It' which
is for young people to raise awareness about early help seeking for problems,
and so young people know about services.
