Community
Projects
St George Youth Services has just finished running a local project in St George
as part of the NSW government's Better Futures South East Sydney Regional Plan.
The
project has just finalised a research project on the needs of children and young
people aged 8-14 for after-school activities.
Another
element of the Better Futures project, for which St George Youth Services was
the auspice body, is the regional Youth Participation Project, which aimed to
improve opportunities for local young people to play a role in their communities
and the services they use. 28 Youth Leaders were recruited and trained in Youth
Leadership, and facilitated workshops with adults and services. They are now available
to assist with group facilitation and projects in the South East Region.
